International Jury awarded to Świnoujście for the third time the Blue Flag, which is an international award based on critieria covering aspects of, for instance, water quality and environmental education activities.

Świnoujście is the only Polish resort to be awarded this prestigious prize thrice in a row.
In the year 2007 apart from Świnoujście the Blue Flag was awarded to the following Polish resorts: Krynica Morska, Ustronie Morskie, Sztutowo, Kąty Rybackie, Mrzeżyn, Pogorzelica i Pobierowo.
In the year 2006 it was only Gdańsk and Świnoujście and in the year 2008 only Świnoujście of this two.

It it the cause for great satisfaction for all inhabitants of the town and the whole region. This exclusive prize is awarded to beaches not only in Europe but also in such exotic regions as the Republic of South Africa, the Caribbean, Marocco or New Zeland. Triple awarding of the Blue Flag to Świnoujście is the proof that the beach of the town lives up to the highest expectations.
