Way of St. James

The section in Świnoujście of the St. James’s Way is a part of the Pomeranian Way of St. James, and this is a small part of the El Camino de Santiago. The Way of St. James in Europe is a pilgrimage route more than a thousand years old, leading from all over the Europe to the site of the tomb of the apostle St. James the Elder, located in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in North-western Spain. Being forgotten after the French Revolution, the Way is now revived after almost three decades. 4th Mountain Bike Orienteering

4th Mountain Bike Orienteering September 13 th Grand adventures await those who are willing to participate in the raid. Each participant will receive a route map with selected control points and a card on which "winning" the particular levels will be registered. The orienteering is so prepared that everyone can participate according to their individual capabilities and skills. Families with children will have only a few checkpoints to find. Intermediate cyclists will have to gain few more points. Cycling the full route and "gaining" all the checkpoints will be a challenge for the most experienced cyclists. The route will run in the Polish part of the island of Usedom, mostly in forested areas.

The 25th Usedom Music Festival

The 25 th Usedom Music Festival 22 September – 13 October. 2018 For three weeks, the music of one Baltic state will resound in sacral buildings, concert halls, castles, hotel venues and galleries (mainly on the German side of Usedom Island). Some concerts are held in Świnoujście, as well. Each and every year, the main event features concerts in the extraordinary scenery and acoustics of the brick edifice of the former power plant in Peenemünde (Germany). The Usedom Music Festival is a real feast for the ears.

The Stronghold Days on the Islands

The Stronghold Days on the Islands 12-14 September This three-day event includes re-enactments of the many battles fought over the area as done by specialised historical groups, as well as historical parades, exhibitions and rallies of antique vehicles. What is more, tourists can participate in guided tours through the Island's numerous fortifications, and enjoy meetings with historians, and with militaria enthusiasts. The Stronghold Days are a perfect opportunity to acquaint one and all with the military history of Świnoujście and to have some fun.

The 35th International Świnoujście – Wolgast Marathon

The 35 th International Świnoujście – Wolgast Marathon 6 September This trans-border event has been held in Świnoujście since the end of the 1970s, and features the participation of almost 300 marathoners, mainly from Poland and Germany. Its route runs along a coastal trail from Świnoujście, through the German part of Uznam Island, to Wolgast. Due to the varied land-forms experienced, the marathon is one of the most attractive and most demanding ones in Europe. Apart from the marathon, the region also holds a half marathon in Wolgast and its vicinity.

The 16 th Świnoujście Organ Evenings International Music Festival 13 June – 05 September This festival is organised by the Świnoujście Friends Association to popularise organ and classical music, both old and modern, and the illustrious artists invited to it guarantee a high artistic performance standard. The organ concerts (alone or accompanied by other instruments, such as the violin, pan flute, trumpet and flute), provide a diversified listening pleasure for all who come. Moreover, every concert emphasizes the beautiful sound of the unique and historic organ in the Christ the King Church.
